Syrian Security Forces Kill More Civilians
This Saturday, December 10; sixteen people died at the hands of security forces in Syria as the unrest continued. Three people were killed in the city of Homs after a strong military presence was reported, another three perished in Hama province.
The deaths in Homs came during tensions as military troops harassed its residents in the 60 checkpoints established in the city. The newest deaths came when civilians when to the cemetery to bury a 10-year-old boy, Maher al-Husseini, who was shot down by a sniper’s bullet in his own home.
When the men approached the cemetery the gunfire started and they continued to dig to bury the child. Last week, the United Nations informed that more than 4,000 people have died in Syria since the government crackdown began in mid-March. (AV)
