Tamaulipas Assassins Were Apprehended

Posted On 20 Oct 2010

A federal judge set warrants for the apprehension of eight narco hitmen responsible for slaughter 72 migrants of Central and South Americans in the northeast of the country. Informed the federal Attorney of the General’s office (PGR).

The eight suspects remain in custody of the authorities. On Saturday they were sent to two different prisons with charges such as: homicide, organized crime, kidnapping, illegal possession of firearms and corruption of minors.

The assassins were detained in different operations during the last days of August and the early days of September. The federal Government informed that seven of them work for the drug cartel known as “Los Zetas.”

The immigrant’s bodies were discovered on August 24 in a San Fernando ranch, in Tamaulipas, close to the border with EE.UU., according to the clues given by the Ecuadorian Luis Freddy Lala Pomavilla, one of the victims that managed to escape wounded to a Marine base.

Lala’s testimony in court pointed “Los Zetas” as responsible. Lala also said that criminals opened fire on migrats, who killed every hostage because they refused to join the criminal organization. And Honduran also survived, his identity and location are unknown.
