The Anti-Corruption Commission alerts of a possible corruption case
The members of the National Anti-Corruption Commission warned in a public letter, a possible irregularity in a contractual process started by the National Agency for Regulation of Land Transport (ANT).
The process, as they acknowledge, was declared void. But that does not eliminate the irregularities. What happened? According to its complaint, the ANT invited a company for the provision of 500,000 license plates with a reference budget of $ 3.6 million. An almost doubled amount, according to the previous contracts made with the same purpose.
The Commission requested Correa to investigate the case. And they did so after the president requested “to be alerted about possible damage or corruption in public spheres,” the letter includes. The document, signed by ten commissioners, was delivered to the Presidency on Tuesday.
