The Electricity Corporation of Ecuador (Celec) transferred $ 40 million to the Bankof the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (Biess).
The transaction was made on Thursday, December 6, as a result of the BIESS agreement with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Resources and Celec.
According to information disseminated by Biess, this item is part of the recovery of the capital invested by the entity in the Toachi-Pilatón project by Celec EP.
The disbursement was made in less than 45 days, the deadline established in the agreement announced on October 31.
Eva García, general manager of Biess, explained that the $ 40 million recovered will contribute to the financing of new products and services implemented by the Bank, for the benefit of affiliates and retirees.
Since last October 24, the Biess implemented new unsecured loans focused onproduction, to contribute to entrepreneurship and economic dynamism towards the development of sustainable finance in the country.
In addition, new mortgage loans with a preferential interest rate of up to 30years will become effective in the coming days. (I)
