The CNE detects three defects in the electoral register
Three types of inconsistencies. That what found by the National Electoral Council (CNE) in the register that will be used for the elections of February 2017.
The first is the existence of Ecuadorians whose identity cards´ initial code number start with 30, when the the highest number is 24, equal to the number of provinces in the country.
Another novelty found by the CNE, after the first phase of the audit of the electoral register, is that there are people with incomplete information. What are they missing? Fields such as date, province or the county where they were born.
The report was approved on May 26 by the plenary of the CNE, but until yesterday the observations did not reach the Civil Registry, which is the body responsible for resolving concerns and debugging the inconsistencies, if applicable.
