The Committee on the Rights of Workers discussed limits on profits
Yesterday, representatives of Claro and Movistar attended to the Commission on the Rights of the Workers of the National Assembly to present their views on the limits on the profits distribution, which is included in the bill of Labour Justice and recognition of Work at Home.
Franco Fernandez, representative of the Claro workers, indicated that this item would affect 2,500 workers from the telephone company.
“Employees of Claro feel doubly disadvantaged (…) It affects us on the issue of royalties, wich already decreases our average profits in a 30% and then with this law we are intended to be affected with the 80%,” said Fernandez .
Juan Carlos Oleas, representative of the Movistar workers, argued that the measure is “regressive, unconstitutional and illegal.”
Fausto Cayambe, Assemblyman of Alianza Pais said that operators should increase wages to their workers and questioned that in recent years there was no increase in salaries.
