The detained for rape in a Bar of Quito are transferred to the prison of Latacunga
Ecuadornews:

Please, take me to my house, get me out of here! These were the words Martha told her friends after being the victim of a gang rape in Quito.
On Sunday, January 13, 2019, at around 4:40 pm, the woman was found naked, sedated, wet in the bathroom, attacked by three men. Now, these details are in the Office of the Prosecutor and the Police, whose agents investigate the case.
The event took place in a bar-restaurant located on Avenida de los Shyris and Tomás de Berlanga, sector of the Jipijapa (north of Quito). According to Fabrizzio Mena, the young woman’s lawyer, now this place is closed. A resident of the sector said yesterday Thursday (January 17, 2019) to this newspaper that throughout the week the restaurant did not open its doors.
The lawyer of Martha (protected name) says that his defendant went to this place to celebrate the birthday party of one of the alleged aggressors, who was her friend since two years ago. This event was also attended by two more friends and the owner of the place.
According to the first investigations, they decided to go buy snacks and ingredients to prepare the snacks and it took them 40 minutes to return. The lawyer indicates that Martha was left alone with the three suspects, because on Sundays and Mondays this place is not open to the public.
Finally they came back and tried to enter, but the door was locked. The investigators say that when the boys entered they saw one of the men with a naked torso and with the zipper unfastened.
The victim – agents point out – had signs of aggression on her body, bruises on her breasts, legs and in her private parts there was blood. Around Martha there were objects also with traces of blood, such as pool cues, liquor bottles, crystal glasses, a table and clothing of the suspects.
According to the investigations, one by one they would have abused the young woman and in addition they would have introduced those objects in their private parts. The police point out that upon seeing this scene, the owner of the restaurant called the agents.
While this was happening, the friends approached Martha to try to help her. When they saw her condition, they began to reproach the supposed aggressors, who began to blame each other. The uniformed ones arrived in six patrol cars. In reviewing the suspects, they found Martha’s underwear stained with blood in the pants of one of them. They also confiscated their cell phones and in one of the devices there were photos and videos that recorded the sexual assault.
The three men were arrested and taken to the Police Unit in Quito. There they were prosecuted for the crime of rape and were given preventive detention.

In the Comprehensive Criminal Code (Article 171) this crime is punishable by imprisonment from 19 to 22 years. The two friends and the owner of the restaurant were not arrested, but they must appear as witnesses.
After the arraignment hearing, all three were held in the Provisional Detention Center of Quito. However, yesterday (January 17) at 5:00 pm they were transferred to the maximum security prison in Latacunga.
This fact was confirmed by Ricardo Camacho, undersecretary of Social Rehabilitation. In addition, he expressed his solidarity with the victim and her family.
“As authorities, we deeply regret what happened with Martha, we hope that justice will be done and that due process will be carried out.”
Currently, this case lies with the Office of the Prosecutor. Investigators believe that before being assaulted, the victim was given liquor with scopolamine. Today is expected to perform a toxicological test to determine whether a drug was used to submit her. She was rushed to a health home. There, a doctor found five injuries in her intimate areas. (I)
