Pamela Aguirre, the spokeswoman of the activist group “Rafael Contigo Siempre” – the movement that seeks the reelection of Rafael Correa -, was receiving a salary payment from the National Assembly until this past month.

On February 11th, 2016, Pamela Aguirre organized a press conference, and with Stephania Baldeón, presented themselves as young independent citizens that requested the Constitutional Court to authorize them to collect signatures for a referendum, with the intention of repealing the transitional constitutional amendments that prevents the participation of President Rafael Corrrea in the presidential elections of 2017.
