“The expectation of having two million vaccines applied is a reality.” In this way, Lenín Moreno, President of the Republic, congratulated himself on the progress of the Vaccine Plan throughout the country, this Monday, May 3, 2021.

The President stated that he expected to vaccinate 50,000 people a day and we are “going to reach 100,000 a day or more this week.” With these results, vaccination will be expedited and will allow the current government to hand over to the next one an ongoing process.

In this context, Moreno reiterated that he will leave office on May 24, 2021, after having negotiated 20 million vaccines already negotiated, to continue with the immunization process.

The president was present at the Campamento Cristiano Esperanza reception center, in the north of Quito, where he verified that the application of the medication is carried out normally. There he detailed these measures.

Moreno also praised the start of vaccination carried out by the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS) for its affiliates and pensioners over 65 years of age.

Finally, the President expressed his discomfort at the false news that circulated on social networks. Camilo Salinas, Minister of Health, described them as “sabotage”, which involved 10-year-old children with cancer, doctors and the elderly, taking them to different points unnecessarily.
