The search for strategic partners to save the real estate business and boost urban projects is a measure taken more and more frequently by companies in the sector with the contraction of the economy. But this is not the only sector.
This new year, envisaged to be more difficult than 2015, planning an advertising and sales strategy will also be necessary to, at least, stop dropping home sales, that last year fell by 35% compared to 2014.
Consultants and real estate agents, as well as developers consulted by daily Expreso agree that 2016 will be “a stuck year,” but they also give a few recipes of what to do to cope with economic difficulties in this sector.
Joan Proano, architect, general manager of the construction and real estate company Proano/Proano, says that in order to address the problems with the cash flows, the company has agreed with its contractors to pay them with properties that will be built this year in projects such as Foresta, in an exclusive area of Quito. The condo will have 160 apartments and 30 stores and offices.
