Until 09:07 of Monday, February 20, 87.6% of the votes were counted. Lenín Moreno obtained a 39.11% and Guillermo Lasso a 28.28%. According to the results so far, Moreno goes ahead with 3,292,566 votes compared to the 2’381.3438 votes of Lasso.

At 20:33 yesterday, with the scrutiny of 57% of the votes: Moreno obtained a 38.26%; While Lasso a 29.26%.
The president of the National Electoral Council, Juan Pablo Pozo, stated in a press conference that they prefer to present a preliminary report of the votes counted, which is already posted on the agency’s website.
He said that because “the results were tight,” they decided not to present the results of the quick count. However, the official told reporters that these preliminary results imply “that we have to wait for the 100% of the scrutiny” to confirm the trend.
