Third week of opposition marches
The week began with demonstrations against the government. Conveners have chosen different days, to avoid mingling with pro-regime demonstrators.
They all protest against the same: the bills of Inheritance tax and Capital Gains, The intervention of the IESS Bank to the Severance Fund of the Teachers Association, the elimination of the 40% state contribution to pensions of retirees and customs tariffs.
Unlike the others, these protests have promoters. The march scheduled for June 24th is called by the United Workers Front, which will be held in Quito and will be replicated in several cities.
This June 25th Jaime Nebot, mayor of Guayaquil, convoked a protest on Avenue 9 de Octubre, at 15:00, and also did his counterpart in Machala, Carlos Falquez Aguilar, who will participate in the protest scheduled in this city under the same precepts of the concentration in the main port.
