The real estate tycoon Donald Trump said Monday he will not compete in the race to become U.S. president in 2012.

The star of NBC television’s ”Celebrity Apprentice” said the decision came after a”considerable deliberation and reflection” after weeks of unofficial campaigning.

“I maintain a strong belief that if I submit It would be able to me to win the primaries and eventually the general election,” Trump said in a statement.
