Turkey Fears the Consequences of the Attacks from Syria

Abdullah Gul
Yesterday, Abdullah Gul, the president of Turkey, pointed out that in Syria “the worst scenery possible” is happening. The Turkish leader said that he will do everything in his power to protect his border with that country.
For six days the Turkish army has counterattacked the attacks of Syrian troops in their territory. The constant encounters forced them to close schools in the city of Akcakale, in Turkey. Despite the warnings made by the Turkish government, the shots from Syria continue to fall in two regions separated by 250 kilometres.
The Turkish artillery has responded with mortar shots in daily basis, their objectives remain the same, fire upon the location from where the Syrian projectile came. Abdullah Gul, ended saying that the revolts against president Bashar al-Assad have evolved and now the Syria Civil War threatens to involve regional powers, he also added that the fall of al-Assad is imminent.
