Unusual rain surprised Guayaquil
Messages through Twitter posted by some citizens last night pointed out that last night’s rain occurred in month that is considered dry.
Inhabitants of Via a la Costa, Las Cumbres, and Los Ceibos reported that on those sectors the rain was strong, while in the Centre and South of the city it was registered a small drizzle.
Meanwhile, in the North of the city there were drizzles of different intensity in several places as the Citadel Huancavilca, Metropolis, Sauces, Alborada, Guayacanes, and Martha Roldos.
Although, for the people of Guayaquil, it tends to be “rare” the climate variability that occurs in the city, for the National Institute of meteorology and hydrology (Inamhi), rain, cloud cover and sporadic heat in the early mornings are characteristic during this time.
Carlos Naranjo, executive director of the Inamhi indicated on Aug. 22 that Intraseasonal variations are normal, that is why some days are cloudy and others sunny, so they will continue alternating.
