Upcoming Holiday generates high demand for transportation tickets

On the occasion of “Day of the Dead” holiday, several interprovincial transportation cooperatives in Ecuador said that the demand for tickets has increased considerably between Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The beaches are one of the favorite destinations for the holiday, especially for the people from the Ecuadorian high lands. While those living in the coastal region, preferred to visit cities such as Baños, Quito and Cuenca.
The regular schedules are full and at the moment, tickets are being sold for extra buses. Between Sunday and Monday about 230 tickets were sold from Quito to Manta, to travel on Wednesday night. While for the route Atacames-Esmeraldas, about 138 tickets were sold.
According to the numbers, 20.000 passengers per day are expected at the terminal during the holiday, especially on the 1 and 2 of November. Around 1.600 buses leave from Cumandá daily. More than one per minute.
At the writing of this report, according to television news, land terminals in cities across the country are packed with thousands of passengers who struggle to find a ticket and travel to tourist sites and places of origin, to visit deceased relatives, family or just to have fun during the holiday.
