VAT refund will go from four to two points
Posted On 17 May 2017
Ecuadornews:
As of June 2017, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will return two and not four value-added tax (VAT) points on purchases made with electronic money. This means that taxpayers who use this means of payment will end up paying a 10% VAT instead of 12%, which is the rate that will apply from that date.
The Solidarity Law, enacted after the earthquake of April 2016, increased from two to four points the return benefit for the use of virtual money. To do this, you must dial * 153 # from your mobile phone and follow the steps that appear on the screen (I).
