The U.S. technology company Microsoft, announced in a statement that from April 2014 will stop to provide support and upgrades for its system to personal computers equipped with Windows XP and Office.
According to Microsoft, this operating system released in 2001, ceased to be the biggest seller last year, when it began to be overtaken by Windows 7.
Computers running Windows XP that stop receiving support, will be exposed to new vulnerabilities. The company stated that carrying an old system is more expensive, since the maintenance and updating costs, exceeding four years, will suffer a 25% increase.
