Yasunidos will resort to the American Court of Human Rights

The members of the collective Yasunidos will submit their complaint to the Inter-American Comission on Human Rights (IACHR), after local instances rejected their request to send to referendum the decision to exploit the oil in the Yasuni National Park.

According to the National Electoral Council, Yasunidos did not reach the minimum of signatures required to call a referendum.

Activists and lawyers attended to the Constitutional Court to deliver a notification to the State on the initiation of proceedings in the international courts.
