Constitutional Court candidates get low grades

Yesterday 19 candidates aspiring to be judges of the Constitutional Court, gave a written test.

QUITO, Ecuador

Yesterday at the Eugenio Espejo Convention Center, 19 of the 24 candidates aspiring to be judges of the Constitutional Court, gave a written test to qualify their knowledge on the subject.

The test is scored out of 100 points: 30 points (resume), 35 points (written knowledge test) and 35 points (oral examination).

The current President of the Constitutional Court, Patricio Pazmiño, got poor grades despite his long judicial career, reaching a note of 28/35 which, compared to a school range, is equivalent to 14/20.

No candidate reached the maximun grade despite the test being basic. On Friday, the oral exams, which consist of exposing a constitutional case, will begin. (MZ)
