Case against Pedro Delgado awaits raffle

Pedro Delgado
Yesterday, the National Court of Justice planned to raffle the day and time for a hearing against Pedro Delgado, former president of the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE), by an order of the Attorney General.
Last week, the Prosecutor Office sent the order within the demand against Delgado for the alleged crime of falsification carried out by the legislator Enrique Herreria. After the raffle, the judge hearing the case shall set the date in the next 24 hours.
The Court also stated that the prosecutor’s request of Galo Chiriboga deferred the hearing that, previously, had been requested by the defense of Delgado and was set to take place today.
Currently the cousin of the president, Pedro Delgado, has an arrest warrant for 24 hours for investigation purposes. However, the former official remains in Miami (United States) in search of political asylum.
