Guayas stops declaration of provincial results

According to the Secretary of the Electoral Board of Guayas, Sergio Benitez, who met with the members on Wednesday to define the results of the elections of February 17, they were unable to allocate seats of the provincial assembly members because there was missing the notification from the Electoral Tribunal (TCE).

The TCE so far has already rejected the challenges presented by Guayas, however, the notification of such rejection never reached the Board of Guayas.

In the Electoral board of Los Rios, the notifications of the rejection of the challenges arrived in time, so that the results for assembly members could be proclaimed.

Guayas is the only province that has a pending proclamation. Still, the secretary of the Board said yesterday that everything was ready to close the process and appoint the elected legislators.
