Panama analyzes asylum request of Galo Lara

According to the Panamanian Foreign Ministry, the asylum application “is being evaluated to determine whether or not is a process for common felonies or if it is a political persecution,” while the extradition will be considered when the visit of the Ecuadorian delegation is formalized, so far a verbal request has been made as AFP reported.
According to the attorney general, Galo Chiriboga, the presentation of the extradition process will be reported in due course. Chiriboga said that depends on many things, he chose not to mention. “The process is being studied. The Prosecution (…) will ask for it,” he said.
Chiriboga and the delegation that traveled to the meeting held in the Foreign Ministry of Panama, to explain about the case Quinsaloma and the ten-year sentence that weighs against Lara for alleged complicity in the case.
