Kilowatt per hour cost is increased

The National Electricity Council (Conelec) said in a statement that the kilowatt hour was increased by 1 cent for the residential sector and 2 for the commercial and industrial.

This increase goes into effect from May consumptions that will be invoiced in June 2014 and is part of the new tariff schedule for the provision of public electricity service, the entity said.

Conecel argues that the adjustment is based “on a technical study of costs, consider an adjustment for inflation for different categories of users.”

This review does not apply to 2.5 million families benefiting since the 2007 of the Dignity tariff of 4 cents, which currently represent 61% of residential customers nationwide.
