Ministry of Health indicates protocol to follow if a case of Ebola emerges
The Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador revealed yesterday the protocol to be followed in the case Ebola virus arrives to the country or affects an Ecuadorian.
This notice is made 48 hours after the World Health Organization raised the global alert and the Panamerican Health Organization asked the countries of the continent to be prepared.
Ecuador has responded with the order to immediately report to authorities any case of compatibility with the symptoms of the virus.
If there is a suspected case of Ebola, the protocol mandates that the patient should be transferred to a health facility, where he will “be isolated” by the authorities. There, shall be met “strict precaution, cleaning, disinfection standards, safeguarding the health of patients and health personnel”, the statement said.
