The new Canal, more expensive?

DP World proposed on January charging a fee almost 68% higher than the actual. There will be another route that starts from the north of the Puná Island and reaches to Posorja.

There are no details of the actual costs of the navigation rates that will be charged for the use of the new external canal with entry to the port. Neither if the State will give in to the request DP World made of closing the actual access.

The expectation is centered there, once the President Rafael Correa emitted the order that allows the construction of the deep water port of Posorja and the new canal. The Government and the dubaití hope to sign the contract soon.
