Quito –
Determine civil, criminal and political responsibilities of the President of the Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPCCS), José Tuárez, will be the task assumed by the General Prosecutor’s Office and the National Assembly after the complaints filed against him.

In the State Attorney General’s Office, the National Union of Educators (UNE) filed a complaint against Tuárez, whom he accuses of crimes of perjury, false testimony and the use of false documents.

Politically, in the National Assembly began the collection of signatures to formalize a request for impeachment.

The president of the Legislature, César Litardo, said that they will go to review if there was a previous qualification process for those who participated in candidates to that body and announced that they will call the plenary session of the councilors of the National Electoral Council (CNE).

The legislator Fabricio Villamar (CREO) announced the interpellation to Tuárez and affirmed that it does so because it incurred in constitutional and legal prohibitions, because subsection 10 of article 21 of the Organic Law of the Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control establishes that they can not be appointed nor serve as counselors who are members or representatives of religious cults.

“Mr. Tuárez identifies himself as Father José Tuárez, both in the documents he signs and in social networks; and, additionally, he lied in the affidavit, where he expressed that he was not subject to prohibitions for his election or performance as a counselor, “he said.

Villamar affirmed that the now official lied in his curriculum by saying that he was director of the convent of Santo Domingo de Guzmán and deputy director of the radio La Voz del Santuario de Baños; also in his affidavit indicating that he is not a religious cult representative. “Someone who has lied with such solvency can not represent the Ecuadorians in that position.”

Isabel Vargas, president of the UNE, said that corruption can not be normalized and worse to standardize the falsification of documents.

“We can not give the cheese to the mouse. Corruption must be combated from all sides, “she said.
