The USS Comfort ship, of the United States Navy, will arrive Wednesday at the Port of Manta to provide free medical attention.
The boat will attend, from June 28, in the specialties of internal medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, optometry, mental health, physiotherapy, dermatology, gynecology, psychology, cardiology, nutrition and radiology.
The brigades will carry out 20 corrective cataract surgeries and 60 other basic surgeries at the Comfort. The Ministry of Public Health in coordination with the ship’s medical team will carry out the evaluations. Surgical patients must be accompanied by a family member, then receive accommodation and meals at no cost.
Two medical centers will also be installed at the Port Authority Cruise Terminal and at the Tohallí Sports Complex. There they will attend 500 people per day until July 5.
