‘A poor church for poor people’: San Francisco de Asis his inspiration

In his meeting with international journalists that were covering the election of the new Pope, Francisco revealed to reporters that during the conclave, as they were going to vote for him, he felt fear of assuming the  responsibility to be elected pope. He recalled that the Brazilian Cardinal Claudio Hummes, came to comfort him and said: “Do not forget the poor.” “That’s how came to my heart  the name of St. Francis of Assisi and then I didn’t doubt to choose that name, which I identify as the successor of Benedict XVI”.

Francisco is the Pope of simplicity, and has set an example of austerity, when was chosen he appered wearing a white robe and a wooden cross around his neck … His life path reveals that undoubtedly its main concern is the poor, giving tetimony of humility.
