Ecuadornews:
The Undersecretariat of Land and Agrarian Reform of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture, and Fisheries (Magap) studied the surface of the seven communes of that ethnic group, from 2015.
The analysis sought to verify if the lands (10 000 hectares) that this ethnic group received from the State, maintained their measures. Now we have the definitive results, which confirm the reduction of the land´s surface.
Scams and irregular negotiations would be the answer to this land reduction. The government is seeking a legal path for the return of these ancestral lands.
