Aerogal and Taca are now part of Avianca
As part of an initiative to be the leading company in Latin America, the Colombian airline Avianca absorbed Taca and Aerogal, which now are part of its conglomerate.
Today, the unification under the single brand Avianca, gather the operations of Avianca Holdings conglomerate, formed by Taca Airlines and its Central American companies, Tampa Airlines Cargo and Galapagos Airlines (Aerogal) from Ecuador, said Fabio Villegas Ramirez, president of the conglomerate.
“We want it to be the leading airline in Latin America, that does not mean being the biggest but to have a projection on the American continent and to be the best,” explains Villegas.
Avianca Group operates more than 5100 flights per week to over one hundred destinations in 25 countries in America and Europe, an offer that is extended to 21.900 daily flights through the associated airlines of the Star Alliance.
