Al Jazeera shows attempts police assault against an earthquake victim in Rocafuerte

The Qatari news network Al Jazeera has broadcast a report that shows elements of the security forces assaulting at least one earthquake victim in Rocafuerte, Manabi, when apparently trying to access to the place where rations of food and water are guarded. Another man has been arrested, who was accused of being armed.

The video is filmed by journalist Adam Raney, who arrived on Monday from Brazil. “Thousands of people were left homeless and without water after the 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Ecuador last Saturday … some say that food rations and construction supplies have not been handed,” reports Raney, who adds that people is tired of waiting (I).
