Alvaro Uribe discusses the FARC events
Recently the former president of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe was invited to the news Ecuadoradio to discuss the peace process between the Colombian government and FARC.
According to the former president, the government of Juan Manuel Santos has overlooked the country’s safety, which has allowed the increase of the violence. Uribe pointed out that, “everybody wants peace, but not one that forgives crimes, nor one that supports the insurgents to the society as political protagonists.”
The guerrilla fighters ‘Andres Paris’ and ‘Sandra’ revealed that the former president Alvaro Uribe tried to negotiate peace with FARC when his period was almost over. The FARC spokesman stated that since then, the contacts for the peace process remained with the Colombian government consolidated with Juan Manuel Santos whom they qualified as a “realistic man.”
Uribe criticized the intervention of the Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez in the Colombian peace process. The former president accused Chavez of being the main accomplice, of watching over the Colombian terrorists in his country and that only because the upcoming reelection he now portrays himself as one of the main supporters of this alleged peace process.
