An Ecuadorian Judge summoned Ricardo Patiño to trial for instigation crimes (August, 2019)

Ecuadorian judge Flavio Marcelo Palomo continued with the request made by the Prosecution. The Judge called the former Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño to trial.

Patiño could be sentenced for his alleged involvement in the crime of instigation. He is being investigated because of a speech Patiño issued in Latacunga called to take over all public entities and then protest in the streets against the government of Lenín Moreno.

The trial hearing will be suspended, since Patiño is a fugitive from justice since Thursday, April 18, 2019.
