The Foreign Ministry will commemorate the first anniversary of the protection granted to the founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange, with various activities. Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño announced this.
On the next June 19, Assange will have a year as a refuge in the Embassy of Ecuador in London (England). However, his political asylum status was received after 59 days of the request made to the regime of Rafael Correa (on August 16, 2012).
“We will develop activities with regard to the 1st. Anniversary of Julian Assange in our Embassy in London,” Patino said through his Twitter account (@ RicardoPatinoEC), last Monday night, after being inquired about by a follower. Patiño did not say what activities would be carried out.
