Ecuador recorded a monthly inflation of 0.19% in January, according to the report released yesterday by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC).
The annual change in consumer prices remains negative: -0.09% and in cities such as Guayaquil and Ambato, the indicator also continues downward. The basic family basket is located in January at $ 712.03 and the vital basket at $ 502.74.

Last operations of e-money in Central
The Central Bank will deactivate the electronic money accounts on April 16, but from then on the services of this system will stop working. Until February 28, the charges, transfers and collection of remittances may be made. Meanwhile, those who use it to make purchases or to download at ATMs can do so until March 31.
The institution asks the establishments to continue accepting it in this transition. From December 29 that governs the Law of Reactivation, they run 90 days so that the impulse of the electronic payment takes it the financial system.
