Last July in London made history as the first double amputee athlete participating in the Olympic Games and, even, thanks to his prosthesis, qualified for semifinals in 400m. Today, South Africa’s Oscar Pistorius, is starring of a crime: he was accused by police of murdering his girlfriend, who was found dead with four shots in the house of the runner, in Pretoria.
The model Reeva Steenkamp, girlfriend of “Blade Runner“, as the Paralympic gold medalist is also known, for using carbon prostheses on both legs, appeared lifeless. At first it was rumored that she had been mistaken for a burglar, which was denied by the police themselves confirming “previous incident” that resulted in domestic violence.
For its part, the athlete’s father, Henke Pistorius, told state broadcaster SABC that his son is “sad” after the incident, and said he knew nothing of what happened in the house.
