A series of big explosions in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, has claimed the lives of nine people, 20 more were injured. Officials speculated that the three blasts targeted the security forces.
The first explosion struck an army patrol in a western area followed by second bomb nearby. The final blast occurred when fire crews reached the scene of the first explosion.
Violent acts in Iraq have fallen drastically in recent years, however some militants still perform regular attacks. (AV)
