Band dedicated to the human trafficking is dismantled
Yesterday, the Vice-Minister of Interior, Javier Cordova, reported that the police dismantled an international band which was dedicated to human trafficking, and arrested six people, three of them from India and three from Ecuador.
In addition, two of the detainees are policemen who were responsible for facilitating the procedures to send people from India and Sri Lanka with counterfeit documents to United States
The official said during a press conference, that the band used the airports in Ecuador to enter victims who were then transported to the United States; the point of arrival was Guayaquil.
Cordova said that the members of this band frequented the airports at nights, to dialogue with immigration agents who received big amounts of money to allow the entry and exit of foreigners, that is presumed entered with false documents, adulterated or impersonating another individual.
