Barcelona is Ready to Face Gremio This Afternoon

This afternoon Barcelona will face Gremio in the first match as visitor of the second round of the Copa Sudamericana 2012.

According to official tournament records, the only time Barcelona played against Gremio, was on February 21,1996 in the , “Yellow Night” at Monumental stadium. The match ended 0-1 in favor of the Brazilians with a goal by Emerson.

“In every competition there are tough opponents, but there is no ‘ghosts’ anymore because there is no distances in soccer as before. We will do everything possible to win this game” said  Barcelona’s coach Gustavo Costas.

Antonio Noboa, president of the soccer club, expects that the Monumental stadium will be full today, because, until yesterday,  30,000 tickets were sold.
