The world number two tennis player, Rafael Nadal, won his seventh consecutive Barcelona Open after beating David Ferrer also Spanish 7-6 (1), 7-5 in a match lasting two hours and forty minutes.

Thus, Nadal became champion of the 60th edition of this historic tournament after beating Ferrer in the final. Nadal, who lost a match at the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell-60 Trofeo Conde de Godó Tournament, since Alex Corretja in the second round he eliminated 2003.
