“Black Friday”: holiday shopping starts

Black Friday
Considered the ideal day of the year for aggressive sales tactics in the United States, the “Black Friday” is celebrated today offering the buyers the best prices and the most competitive offers prior to Christmas season.
However, this day is not considered “the best trading day of the year” for everyone, it turns out that because of this date, thousands of workers collected signatures and threatened to hold protests by excessive working hours.
Last year, many stores were opened at midnight on Friday, causing dissatisfaction in employees who have to replace their Thanksgiving commitments to go to work.
This year, supermarket chains decided to move the “Black Friday” to Thursday at eight o’clock, to compensate the low season.
Target Store workers collected about 350,000 signatures for the company to not open its doors until Friday morning. While Walmart workers called protests and strikes throughout the week, including the “Black Friday”.
“It shows that Walmart thinks only thinks of winning a few more dollars instead of closing its shops a couple of hours for the families”, criticizes Monique Velazquez, a single mother with five children and employee of the department store for a year.
