Bomb Explodes in Peaceful Syrian Suburb

Today a roadside bomb exploded near a restive suburb in Damascus. At that moment senior UN officials toured the area on Sunday. The explosion blasted the front of parked vehicle but no casualties occurred.
Visiting UN peacekeeping chief Herve Ladsous and Mayor General Robert Mood, the head of the UN observers in Syria were at 150 meters of the blast went off in the Douma suburb. The car, a Toyota pickup was engulfed in flames and smoke.
It’s still not clear what was the target of the explosion; however the car was parked near a security checkpoint. Meanwhile a security official informed the UN observers that armed men had targeted two military buses in Douma earlier in the dead, the attack left more than 30 security agents wounded. (AV)
