Cameroonians Athletes disappear in London after being eliminated from Olympic Games
Sport and Gymnastics Ministry of Cameroon, said this morning that seven athletes from that country who were competing in the Olympic Games in London, are missing.
It is believed that athletes, among those included five boxers, a swimmer and a soccer player, have decided to stay in Europe for economic reasons.
David Ojong, head of the Mission, said in a message to the Ministry that the first missing athlete was Drusille Ngako, alternate goalkeeper of the women’s soccer team. Days later, swimmer Paul Ekane Edingue were not seen again, while boxers Thomas Essomba, Christian Donfack Adjoufack, Abdon Mewoli, Blaise Yepmou Mendouo, and Serge Ambomo were not found on Sunday in the Olympic Village.
Responsiblesfor the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced today that they know nothing about the status of these athletes.
