Carlos Gongora Still Fights for the Gold in London 2012

Ecuadorian boxer, Carlos Gongora Mercado, managed to advance to the knockout stages of the Olympic Boxing Games of London 2012, beating 9-8 to Azerbaijan, Vatan Huseynli, in the 81 kg category.

The Ecuadorian started the fight on right foot, beating his opponent on the first two rounds 4-2 and 3-2, however, the third round ended with a 4-2 on favor of Huseynli, but at the end the total score was 9-8 favoring Gongora.

Gongora managed to place himself among the 16 best of his class, where he will face the Kazakh, Adilbek Niyazymbetov, on next Saturday, August 4 at 16:30. MZ
