Chavismo pretends to ‘seize’ the day that the opposition will protest in Caracas

Supporters of PSUV, Venezuela‘s ruling party, said yesterday that they plan to seize Caracas on 23 January, the same day the opposition legislators scheduled a demonstration against the government continued despite President Hugo Chavez, who remains hospitalized in Cuba since December 11, 2012.
“The January 23, the revolution forces will go to the streets, well take Caracas by the four corners of the city,” said Jorge Rodriguez, the campaign manager of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), adding that the march will end with “a great demonstration” in the Caracas neighborhood 23 de Enero. Its purpose is to represent “the expression of the true forces of democracy that defend the people of Venezuela.”
Meanwhile Miriam Montilla of the opposition, stated after reading the statement of the parliamentary group of the Bureau of Democratic Unity (MUD) that, “We want to especially address the people of Venezuela, and to call the entire country for this January 23 in order to carry out a massive show in the streets of Venezuela“.
