Checks change design

Checks will have new requirements. The documents with changes begin to print in 90 days from yesterday, when published in the official register.

Resolution JB-2014 – 2858 indicates that checks will have soft colors (pastels) and proposed four formats in the background, among them one that has repetitive legends with the name of the Bank and may include lines with free designs.

Johanna Roca of the Area of Valued Documentsof the company Senefelder, explains that not already used logos or thematic designs in the central area of checks and that now companies not may place their emblems in the area where these roles are customized.

She explained that these measures make the check to be scanned more easily and thus improve processes in the clearing house.

Cesar Robalino, President of the Association of Banks, said has been an emphasis on the use of security inks that are diluted when trying to delete them or that are fluorescent. He also mentioned that this would not generate problems such as lack of checks, because banks had already made orders for stock.
