Chile demanded by Bolivia after the need for access to the sea
“The wealth of countries is based on the system of government, an administration of economic policies and the work of its people,” said Chilean Foreign Minister Alfredo Moreno.
With this information it is intended to rebuke the current economic situation in Bolivia, which is closely linked to their lack of sea exit. “20% of the world’s countries is Mediterranean. And within that there are some who have a good level of development, others intermediate, and others, under” Moreno insisted during an interview with the daily El Mercurio.
The issue of access to the sea has been discussed in several meetings between the two countries. Bolivia filed a complaint against Chile to claim the Atacama desert who lost to the country during the War of the Pacific (1879-1883).
For his part, President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, announced that the demand is due to the lack of access to the sea and this increases the costs of his trade, and subjects his country to “imprisonment“.
