CNE begin discussing sectional election budget
The National Electoral Council (CNE) today began the debate on the budget to cover the expenses for the local elections of February 2014, in which the representatives of local governments will be elected.

There isn’t a specific amount, but what is certain is that the budget shall not exceed the one from the last elections of February 2013, in which the presidential binomial, assembly members and members of the Andean Parliament, were chosen.
The past elections’ budget consisted of $ 147.1 million, which were distributed to the purchase of election materials, infrastructure, current expenditures, personnel, mobilization and acquisition of a technology platform.
For this new election period, about 11,000 officials will be appointed, including mayors, governors, representatives of parish boards, councilors, whose promotion fund is defined under section 209 of the Electoral Code.
