CNE begins removing illegal billboards
Today, representatives of the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym) began a tour over the country to remove the billboards that have been placed by political groups or candidates for promotion in the elections of February 2013.
Billboards that are not located in official headquarters of political groups will be identified as illegal and unauthorized.
Doris Mejia, CNE advisor, said that political subjects may employ advertising from next January 4, when the campaign begins officially.
So far, several billboards belonging to the Partido Sociedad Patriotica (PSP), Avanza, Alianza PAIS and Creando Oportunidades (CREO), have been removed.
